This presentation explores a dynamic approach to culture development and training that adapts and evolves annually—rooted in internal knowledge, tailored tools, and employee lifecycle alignment. Unlike many large organizations that outsource leadership development, this company has chosen to keep training in-house to ensure a deep understanding of internal needs and culture. The result: individualized, job-specific programs that empower both leaders and employees across various locations. Leveraging tools like M365, digital workshops, and e-learning platforms, the organization has built a robust training ecosystem that reflects real-time competency requirements. A standout feature is the feedback loop between employees and managers, which enables leadership development based on actual team perceptions and skills gaps. Competency-based assessments are used not only to guide development paths but also to measure program effectiveness. This strategic, adaptive framework strengthens engagement, fosters leadership accountability, and supports career development from onboarding to advancement.
As a leadership, learning, culture, and human factors expert with nearly two decades of experience, I am passionate about developing the interpersonal skills of individuals, teams, and organisations. From flight crews and medical professionals to consultants and others working in high-risk industries, I work together with individuals and organisations to create a positive and productive working culture, improve safety, and enhance team cohesion. Whether psychological safety, change management, emotional intelligence, resilience or collective ownership, continuously evolving competency-based trainings approaches are needed to develop the skillset of individuals and teams now and in the future. As a recognised expert in human factors, I have given speeches on four continents on topics spanning leadership, empathy, and organisational culture.
