Marina brings a strong background in workforce planning and compensation from her previous role at Schlumberger, where she supported personnel optimization initiatives across Russia and the Caspian region. Rafaella Apuzzo

Compensation Manager, DeepL

Rafaella has been working in HR for 12 years, with the last 8 in rewards, mostly focused on compensation and equity. She was the first person to join the rewards function at DeepL, helping to shape and implement a new compensation strategy, job architecture, and overall structure from scratch.
Throughout her career in rewards, she has worked with companies of different sizes, both private and public, managing compensation for employees across multiple countries worldwide. She started her HR career in recruitment, then moved into operations and payroll before finding her passion in rewards, where she combines her analytical mindset with a deep commitment to fairness in pay practices. She also has strong experience managing employee equity schemes, ensuring competitive and well-structured compensation programs.Originally from Brazil, she started her HR career in Hungary and has been living in Berlin for the past five years. At this year’s Total Rewards Reloaded Europe, she’ll be facilitating a workshop and sharing her experiences in building compensation programs that are both strategic and equitable.

Prior to F5, I have held roles at Siemens and EY as an in-house C&B Manager. Passionate about my work, I thrive on designing innovative reward programs that help the business to attract, retain, and motivate top talent. I am committed to driving employee engagement and organizational excellence. I love that my work directly impacts employees’ lives and well-being as well as the fact that my efforts contribute to people’s job satisfaction and financial security. His areas of expertise include policy, design and strategic issues concerning Job Evaluation, Reward Management, International HR Governance, Performance Management, Organizational Design and HR Strategy. Assaf is also an active writer an d has published six articles about Reward and Talent Management, Employee Surveys and the strategic role of HR in Organizations. He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Economics from the Goethe University in Frankfurt and a Master of Business Consulting (M.BC.) from the Wismar University of Applied Sciences.
